Closed Area
A closed area, in the context of security, applies to an area, room, or facility that adheres to the construction guidelines established by the United States Department of Defense for sites that handle sensitive materials or information.
The Underwriters Laboratories 2050 standard is an especially stringent set of guidelines for facilities that deal with sensitive information that, when followed, qualify a room or facility as a Closed Area. A 2050 Room and a closed area are functionally the same, and both represent the highest level of security.
