A SCIF, or Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility, is a highly secure area used to safely process classified or highly sensitive information. A SCIF can be a single room, or an entire building, but must demonstrate proper adherence to rigoruous construction guidelines.

SCIFs are much like 2050 rooms and closed areas which are functionally the same. All three represent an incredibly high level of security fit to satisfy the stringent demands of the US Government.
